KRIK portal:
The Crime and Corruption Investigation Network (KRIK) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established to advance investigative journalism in Serbia. The organization was founded by a team of journalists who have been uncovering crime and corruption for years and have received multiple awards for their work. Our work focuses on investigating organized crime and corruption, which permeate all spheres of society. Our goal is to help readers better understand how crime and corruption affect their lives. KRIK strives to provide detailed investigative stories as well as the latest news in this field. Additionally, KRIK has built a document database on its website, which is a valuable resource for journalists and the public.
KRIK is part of the international journalism network Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), which consists of non-profit investigative centers and independent media from about twenty countries around the world, from the Balkans and Eastern Europe to Central Asia. As a member of OCCRP, KRIK also participates in cross-border investigative projects.
Raskrikavanje:
Raskrikavanje aims to combat media misinformation, which we recognize in the increasingly prevalent trend of spreading inaccurate information presented as facts. We record the publication of false and unverified news, as well as various forms of violations of journalistic profession rules that should ensure independent, objective, and truthful information for the public in Serbia. Raskrikavanje also scrutinizes the finances of editors and media owners, monitoring which media are the most frequent recipients of state aid and how this affects their work.
The idea of combating fake news was developed together with colleagues from the Raskrinkavanje.ba portal from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and later journalists from other countries in the region joined the project. Soon, we also started collaborating with the sites Raskrinkavanje.me from Montenegro, Razkrinkavanje from Slovenia, Fake News Tragač from Novi Sad, and Faktograf from Croatia. Together with these organizations, we founded a regional network of media outlets that uncover fake news and named it SEE Check.
Raskrikavanje is a project of the KRIK portal, which has been uncovering crime and corruption for several years. KRIK is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in 2015 to advance investigative journalism in Serbia.
