We envision a world in which subscribers are served with quality journalism and experiences, forged close relationships, and made to feel a part of a community that shares similar values and interests.
Romania Libera took a fundamental step towards becoming a digital subscriber in 2017, building deeper relationships with our readers at scale.
Having said that, we are reiterating now that we must think and act differently in order to achieve this. Keeping up with industry trends is crucial if we want to remain competitive.
Six years after switching to a digital subscription model, our results are slowly improving. Even though there is a market challenge across the industry, we have exceeded significant subscription milestones. Investing in agenda-setting journalism, publishing capabilities, and reader experience has enabled us to deliver consistently high-quality journalism. Our newspaper and website, videos, and social media offer a variety of ways for readers to engage with our journalism.
Romania Libera's journalism business is effective and proven, and it continues to grow. Our digital subscription base has grown, while our print subscription base has remained strong. Publicity now accounts for most of our revenue, which comfortably offsets structural declines from changing reader behaviour. I want us to be clear about where we are going as we reflect on our performance at our 6-year mark. Our profit margins are strong, allowing us to invest continuously in the business. We want the subscribers, partners, and clients to be clear about what we do.
