2. Editorial Mission
2.1. Editorial Mission Statement
The Media Outlet shall disclose its editorial mission statement which shall be consistent with the fundamental ethical principles of trustworthy journalism, and, as described in the Preamble, should incorporate principles of: ethical practice, good governance, self-regulation and Engagement with the public. A Media Outlet shall set out how it proposes to uphold these journalism principles through its Editorial Guidelines and processes which shall include arrangements in relation to internal accountability and of appropriate external accountability (see clauses 9 – 15). Best practice is to have these arrangements codified and made available publicly.

Talk Africa is an online multimedia content platform that publishes content from freelance journalists, correspondents, and expert opinions. Starting in 2015, talkafrica has been publishing development-oriented stories around health, agriculture, climate change, technology and innovation, gender, and extractives among many others. Our contributors range from local freelance journalists to correspondents and journalists from the regions e.g DR Congo and South Africa, Uganda and Tanzania Talk Africa strives to bridge the gap in storytelling where many journalists at times fail to publish stories in their respective media outlets due to many reasons. At Talk Africa, we give journalists an opportunity to publish factual and well-researched articles that pass fact-checks in content generation. Talk Africa has also published investigative story grants from the Earth Journalism Network, European Journalism Fund, National Geographic, the media council of Kenya,InfoNile, IWMF, Transparency International and the Africa-China reporting Project among many others.
