2. Editorial Mission
2.1. Editorial Mission Statement
The Media Outlet shall disclose its editorial mission statement which shall be consistent with the fundamental ethical principles of trustworthy journalism, and, as described in the Preamble, should incorporate principles of: ethical practice, good governance, self-regulation and Engagement with the public. A Media Outlet shall set out how it proposes to uphold these journalism principles through its Editorial Guidelines and processes which shall include arrangements in relation to internal accountability and of appropriate external accountability (see clauses 9 – 15). Best practice is to have these arrangements codified and made available publicly.

We believe that compliance with the following principles will help us achieve this objective.
1. The journalist is free from external and internal pressures.
2. The journalist must seek the truth, separate information from his/her own interpretations and opinions, while the material should take into account the views of all interested parties.
3. The journalist does not distort, does not lie, does not manipulate any facts or statements to confirm his/her thesis or to achieve the objective of the organisation.
4. The journalist knows the law, above all, the press law, and applies it in his/her ongoing work, and the employer provides training in this field on a regular basis.
5. The journalist protects confidential information sources without exceptions.
6. The journalist shall not, for his/her own interest or for the interest of any other person, use any information gathered in the performance of his/her professional duties.
7. The journalist describes sensitive stories as if they concerned himself/herself or his/her loved ones. In daily work, the journalist is sensitive and emphatic.
8. The journalist tries to avoid anonymous sources except where it is justified by reasons of security of the informer or a legitimate public interest, and when he/she has full confidence in the source and when the reliability of the source does not raise any concerns of the journalist.
9. The journalist describes materials from other media, exercising due diligence and reflection. When using the quotation right, we are responsible for all contents published on our websites.
10. In social media, the journalist should act ethically, also on his/her private profile.
11. The publisher/editor may not interfere with the substance of the text without the author’s knowledge, and the author may not modify the approved text without the consent of the editor/publisher.
12. Editorial content is clearly separated from advertising content.
13. The journalist shall not participate in advertising, promotional, sponsorship and public relations activities paid for by external entities.
14. The journalist may not accept gifts or any benefits from external entities except for small gifts of a value not exceeding PLN 200.
15. The journalist, after obtaining the consent of his/her superior, may accept an invitation to an event whose costs are borne by an external entity, provided that this does not violate the journalist’s independence.
16. The journalist is obliged to inform his/her superior about any unauthorised interference with the journalist’s independence. Cases of attempted blackmail, threats, intimidation of journalists will be made public.
17. The editor-in-chief shall ensure that journalists are fully supported in their work. Especially in situations where journalists are being intimidated, blackmailed and become subject to undue pressure.
18. In disputes, if the journalist has not infringed any principles of the code and/or the law, the organisation shall assure that the journalist receives legal and financial protection.
19. All members of the editorial staff shall be assured that reports of infringements within the organisation remain anonymous.
20. The publishing house and the editor-in-chief are entitled to refuse to publish a notice and an advertisement if their content or form is contrary to the policy of the editorial office.
