2. Editorial Mission
2.1. Editorial Mission Statement
The Media Outlet shall disclose its editorial mission statement which shall be consistent with the fundamental ethical principles of trustworthy journalism, and, as described in the Preamble, should incorporate principles of: ethical practice, good governance, self-regulation and Engagement with the public. A Media Outlet shall set out how it proposes to uphold these journalism principles through its Editorial Guidelines and processes which shall include arrangements in relation to internal accountability and of appropriate external accountability (see clauses 9 – 15). Best practice is to have these arrangements codified and made available publicly.

Mediacritica.md is the platform of the IJC aimed at combating propaganda, manipulation, and disinformation through the media, as well as developing the critical thinking skills of media consumers in the Republic of Moldova.
Through daily news, analyses, case studies, periodic monitoring, authored by journalists and researchers, the portal highlights deviations of media institutions from ethical norms. At the same time, the rules of fair and unbiased journalism are explained through a series of video materials. Internet users are invited to test their knowledge through various interactive games and quizzes on diverse topics. Audio enthusiasts can listen to "Podcastul cuMINTE," the country's first podcast on misinformation in the media, manipulation techniques, and fake news. On Mediacritica, viewers and radio listeners are encouraged to report violations they observe on TV or radio through the T(V)E Privește! platform, and the credibility ranking of news portals is available on the Media Radar platform.

Accuracy and Impartiality:
The published information is presented in a correct, balanced, and impartial manner, contributing to the understanding of events and subjects by the readers of the portal.
Ethics and Professionalism:
The journalists of the Mediacritica portal, as well as other employees of the Independent Journalism Center (IJC), adhere to the highest ethical standards and principles of professional conduct.
Human Rights:
In the content published on Mediacritica, the authors do not discriminate based on criteria such as nationality, spoken language, religion, age, gender, etc.
Gender Equality:
Mediacritica portal adheres to the principle of gender equality and encourages a balanced and professional representation of subjects related to women and men. The authors also respect the feminine form of professions, to the extent that this principle is applicable.
Non-political Affiliation:
Journalists and other employees of IJC are not politically affiliated. In their activities within the organization, they do not endorse political parties or politicians, neither during electoral campaigns nor outside of them.
PRINCIPLES
The journalists of Mediacritica portal carry out their activities strictly in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Ethics for Journalists in the Republic of Moldova, as well as other self-regulatory norms, and in the spirit of the laws governing the media sector.
The news is published in a timely manner and disseminated through various communication channels to reach the target groups.
Authors who contribute analytical materials and are not part of the IJC team should comply with integrity criteria.
Articles published on Mediacritica, along with audio and video content, as well as interactive formats, are to be taken over with the prior consent of the representatives of the IJC.
The editorial responsibility for the content published on the Mediacritica portal, as well as on the platform's subpages, fully belongs to IJC.
